Main requirements for cargo packaging

Cargo submitted for transportation must have proper packaging and containers. The cargo must be packed with its special properties in mind to ensure safety during transportation and unloading and to prevent damage to other cargo;
Cargo packaging must be clean and dry, without external damage or access to the contents;
Containers for liquid and other cargo must fully prevent leakage, spillage or scattering of contents;
The type of packaging must correspond to the contents and weight of the cargo;
Packaging must correspond to climate conditions;
Packaging must comply with customs regime requirements;
Inner contents must be tightly packed and contain no voids;
Boxes must not have old cargo markings or handling signs that do not correspond to the contents.

Attention

Responsibility for proper packaging that ensures cargo safety during intercity transportation and multi-tier loading, as well as responsibility for informing about loading and transportation specifics, rests directly with the sender of the cargo.

Assess what packaging your cargo requires

Carefully inspect the cargo and choose suitable packaging based on its weight, dimensions, value, fragility and other features.

Choose suitable packaging materials

Use dense corrugated cardboard boxes, foam boxes, parcel boxes and wooden crates as transport packaging. If reusing cardboard packaging, make sure the box is rigid and free of tears and punctures.

Use soft cushioning materials for additional protection and fixation during transportation

Newspapers, foam rubber, cushioning fillers, bubble wrap and similar materials can be used as shock absorbers.

Place fragile items in the center of the box so they do not touch each other

Carefully wrap each item in soft packaging material for additional protection.

Seal all package joints with wide tape

Wrap each cargo unit with stretch film to help protect it from moisture and dirt. Use strong tapes for sealing.

Cargo must contain appropriate marking

Cargo requiring special storage and transportation conditions must contain appropriate marking, handling signs and instructions for handling.
